A GLAMOUROUS LOOK FOR THE HOLIDAYS

The high holiday season is just around the corner, quietly anticipating its festive arrival. Whether you’re hosting, being hosted or serving a quiet family meal, do something special for the holidays and for yourself. You’re a queen. It’s especially important if you’re staying home to invest a little extra in your appearance.

In this article, we’ll show you a few simple and easy styles that you can do all on your own. Regardless of your wig’s length or permanent style, you’ll be surprised to discover how a small touch can transform an everyday hairstyle into something sparkling and extraordinarily elegant.

1. Part hair on the side and secure with a unique hair pin

The ingenious simplicity of this hairstyle lies in the fact that it requires no special skills or knowledge. Neat, straight hair brushed with a small part on the side and secured with a decorative hair pin does all the work for you. And it does it well.

What you can do is to invest in a hairpin worthy of your look. After all, its the star of the show.

Do it yourself:

Brush your hair carefully. Comb a lock of hair behind your left ear. Secure with a decorative hair pin at the same level as your ear.

2. Add waves on one side for a classic vintage look

On the left: Classic brilliant elegance

This look is a beautiful, classic vintage style that radiates true femininity of the 1920s. Sound (and look) complicated? Actually, if you have a Babyliss hair curler, you can try and create this look on your own. The trick here lies in its simplicity. Don’t give in to the temptation to curl the opposite side as well. Remember: the key here is less is more.

Do it yourself:

Take the right side of your hair and carefully comb it behind your ear. Take the left side of your hair and and style it from the temple area down using a Babyliss curler. After that, don’t brush out the curls with a hairbrush, which will ruin the body of the curls; instead, gently comb your fingers through the hair and smooth it out slightly to create perfect waves.
When you take off the wig, store it with the curls rolled inward inside the net.

3. Loosely gather hair around a slight bump at the crown of your head

Add volume for instant drama. Update the simple half up-do with a bit of volume for a look that is sophisticated and festive.

Do it yourself:

Tease the hair below the crown of your head by brushing hair from the bottom upward toward the roots. Use a comb with uneven teeth (zigzagged teeth) that creates a messy section under the hair that adds height and volume at the crown of your head. Loosely gather the sides and secure it underneath the raised area.

4. “Crush” the ends of the hair for a loose, sophisticated look

Does a bob seem like the most casual, sporty style around? Well, think again. By updating a coiffed style to a tousled, freer look, the results are dashingly sophisticated. Perfect for the middle-aged fashionista who doesn’t want to “dress up” like a teenaged girl. Just give it a tiny touch-up and you’re good to go.

Do it yourself:

After drying, instead of combing and straightening, crush the edges of the hair with hands dampened with a bit of water and silicone.

In general, this is a great tip for anyone, with any style:

To revive a lifeless, unnaturally stiff wig and give it a loose, healthy and flexible look, crush the hair a few times with hands dampened with a water and silicone. It will do wonders for your wig.

5. Add a bit of air, movement and slight volume for a festive look

Short-haired women need some loving too. Though it might seems like there isn’t much you can do with a short-haired wig, the right touch can—and should—add that special sparkle.

Take a businesslike, practical and cute wig and add a touch of volume and air, plus a bit of movement to give it a suave, formal look that is perfect for shabbos.

Do it yourself:

Add slight volume at the crown using a teasing comb (described in paragraph three). Using a blowdryer, comb the bangs toward the side for an airy look. If you have pronounced sideburns, tuck them behind your ears. This look softens the face and lengthens your cheekbones.

We hope you enjoy preparing for the holidays in body and in spirit. May we reach this holiday season feeling festive and regal inside and out.

Chag same’ach to you all!
