Last week, many young boys bid farewell to their ponytails on Lag Ba’Omer, while their mothers may have shed a tear (or ten).
Ironically, those same mothers may be looking for a good solution for the summer right now – a hairstyle that will be modest by stylish, work-appropriate, simcha-to-carpool, cool but also actually cool – and keep her from struggling with the summer heat. Well, how about the ponytail?
So we decided that while we continue to blog about recommended Simcha hairstyle for the wedding season that’s around the corner, we’d also start a blog series of fun, everyday summer hairstyles. First up: the Ponytail. Yep, it’s not the most prestigious hairstyle of the bunch and many view it as a last resort when you can’t seem to find time to give your sheitel a blowout. Let’s talk again after you see the following images and see if you’ve come to see the ponytail as not basic at all…
Full, layered hair gathered into a high and wavy ponytail. The ombre action here definitely adds a lot to this otherwise plain look.
And here’s the sleek version.
Points for the bangs and for the creative ponytail.
Note the off-center part, the bangs and the slight bump on the crown.
Wavy-straight hair, gathered into a royally loose ponytail. Sometimes nonchalance is the way to go.
A side ponytail that says Sleek and Savvy. Note the side part on the other side.
Cute, natural (but tamed) bangs with some height.
A headband which is actually a piece of jewelry elevates the ponytail into a hairstyle fit for a princess.
The bow takes us back in time to a softer, simpler time…
Don’t try this at home unless you really know what you’re doing (but how pretty is it?)
